P6 Professional Hangs When Attempting to Import an XER With Duplicate Tasks

Symptoms
ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
When trying to import XER file through P6 Professional, the application hangs indefinitely.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
The XER file import should complete without a long delay.
STEPS
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Login to P6 Professional.
- Click File > Import.
- Select XER.
- Select "Project".
- Navigate the XER file.
- Update "Import Project Options", click "Next.
- Click "Next", "Finish".
- P6 Professional hangs indefinitely.
