Goal
The use case of this document is to show how to create an OCI Compute Instance in another Virtual Cloud Network (VCN) without the need to delete any resources that are referencing the current VCN, such as Virtual Network Interface Cards (VNICs) or Subnets.
For example, when changing the CIDR of the VCN where the instance resides, for e.g. from 10.1.x.x/16 to 10.2.x.x/16 without following Changing a VCN's IPv4 CIDR blocks as the business case does not allow to terminate yet the instances or to delete the resources associated with it and to by-pass the following error while trying to perform changes to the VCN:
