Queries Stop Performing Well When Using Larger Ranges or Sets of Values (Doc ID 2980566.1)

Symptoms

Generating reports/queries over small ranges e.g. less than 8 days run quickly and efficiently, but larger ranges take longer.
This may even result in timeout errors on the MySQL instance and/or errors such a 502 Bad Gateway for the application side.
