"Selection includes file(s) linked to BP records/Reports and cannot be deleted." Alert Received While Attempting to Delete a File from Document Manager (Doc ID 2985546.1)

Symptoms

The user is unable to delete files in the Document Manager (DM) and receives the Alert msg below. The files were linked to a Business Process (BP) record at one point but were later detached.

"Selection includes file(s) linked to BP records/Reports and cannot be deleted."


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Log in to Unifier.
  2. Navigate to Project_XYZ > Document Manager > Documents > Project Documents > Folder_123
  3. Select the "sample.pdf" file and click the gear icon > Delete. Observe the Alert msg as mentioned above.
  4. Additionally, observe that the 'Linked Records' section for "sample.pdf" file in Document Manager is empty which confirms that this file is not linked to any BP records. However, the Document Manager Log shows the link icon under the 'BP' column for the same "sample.pdf" file which indicates a phantom linked record.
