RPASCE v23: Configuration Fails To Save When Main And Virtual Hierarchies Are Not In Sync (Doc ID 2987130.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 16, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Assortment & Item Planning Enterprise Edition Cloud Service Plus - Version 23.1 and later
Oracle Retail Demand Forecasting Cloud Service - Version 23.1 and later
Oracle Retail Merchandise Financial Planning Cloud Service - Version 23.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Removing a level (dimension) from the original hierarchy causes an error when trying to save the configuration. This is causing loss of all actions/modifications done in the configuration prior to removing the dimension (as save cannot happen). The only solution is to close the configuration without saving and re-opening it. Expectation is that there should be a validation error in the tools, but the configuration itself should still be opened instead of failing badly.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Run the 23.1.201.0.6 Config Tools through Cygwin
2. Open the attached configuration in the Config Tools
3. Under the 'Hierarchy' section, remove the 'ldom' dimension from the 'PROD' hierarchy
4. Try to 'Save' the configuration and observe that below error pop-up appears:
