Essbase Marketplace: Unable to Start Essbase Service After updating SSL Certificate “Essbase Error: Failed to perform curl request with error [SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK] HTTP communication failed” (Doc ID 2987138.1)

Symptoms

After SSL certificates were updated in Essbase , OAC-BI dashboard errored out running queries with the following error message –

Error : State: HY000. Code: 96002. [nQSError: 96002] Essbase Error: Failed to perform curl request with error [SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK] to the following address [https:// <host_name>//essbase/agent]HTTP communication failed with error [Failed to perform curl request with error [SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK] to the following address [https://<host_name>/essbase/agent]]:1040048 (HY000)

In ssl_error_log : AH01903: Failed to configure CA certificate chain!

Essbase HTTPD service does not come up successfully either


Error : Failed to start The Apache HTTP Server.
Unit httpd.service entered failed state.
httpd.service failed.

When the following line in ssl.conf file located in /etc/httpd/conf.d was commented out , Essbase and the HTTPD service starts up successfully and Essbase UI is accessible , however OAC - BI dashboard still does not connect to Essbase throwing SSL related errors
