Last updated on JUNE 06, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Analytics Cloud - Version September 2022 (6.8) and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Two list filters bound together by a single parameter have the same selections but the excludes setting doesn't match.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create two canvas named Canvas 1 and Canvas 2.
  2. Create Dashboard Filters view in both the canvases.
  3. Canvas 1 and canvas 2 should have a common attribute. For example, in Canvas 1 Buyer, Item category and Overtime columns are being used and in Canvas 2 Buyer, Item category and Base Comp columns are being used. Buyer is the common attribute.
  4. From Canvas 1:Click on Drop Down of Buyer filter->Selections(X)-> Click on create parameter, to create a parameter to be a bind parameter
  5. From Canvas 2:Click on the same Buyer column's filter Drop Down -> Selections(X)-> Choose parameter(Buyer) from previous step to be a bind parameter for canvas 2.
  6. Choose values in Canvas 1, same values are passed and gets filtered out in canvas 2, it ensures binding between canvases works as expected.
  7. From Canvas 1:Click on Drop Down of the Buyer filter -> Choose values to get Excluded.
  8. Open Canvas 2, values chosen in Canvas 1 are not excluded.
