Item Location Traits Screen Error: "Some error has occurred. Error received is : Target Unreachable, 'null' reached null. Please contact system administrator." (Doc ID 2993192.1)

Goal

Setting up a new item in MFCS. While performing a mass update via location Traits, an error is displayed while clicking "save and Close'.

ERROR

Some error has occurred. Error received is : Target Unreachable, 'null' reached null. Please contact system administrator.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Create a new item or update an existing item.
2. Once in items screen. Navigate to More Actions > Locations.
3. Once in Item Locations screen. Navigate to More Actions > Mass Change > Location Traits.
4. Once in Item Location Traits screen. Make some changes or do not make any change. Click 'Save and Close'.
5. The screen closes and error is displayed "Some error has occurred. Error received is : Target Unreachable, 'null' reached null. Please contact system administrator."

This is due to the user not selecting a location in the Item Location Traits screen but then selecting save and close, this throws an error as you can't save the traits against no location. The only option to avoid error in this case is to select cancel but this is not obvious for the users.

The error message displayed "Some error has occurred. Error received is : Target Unreachable, 'null' reached null. Please contact system administrator."
is generic and does not indicate what value from the screen was null or what value in the screen was not selected by the user. The application users would expect clear description of the error.

PROVIDE A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE ENHANCEMENT REQUEST

The enhancement request is to have proper message displayed on screen in cases where expected values are not added/selected in the screen.

Eg: If locations are not added in the location trait screen then a message like 'Error: No locations added. Add atleast one location.' would be a helpful message for the user.

The enhancement will help in providing clear and specific error message on screen. Based on the message displayed, corrective action can be taken immediately by the user. This would have avoided and SR being logged.
