Last updated on DECEMBER 20, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle BigMachines CPQ Cloud Service - Version 23 C Patch 1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When viewing or reconfiguring a favorite that was created via a Copy to Favorites commerce action, system attributes "_bm_model_name" and "_bm_model_variable_name" have no value.

When attempting to reconfigure and add this favorite to a transaction, the following error is observed:

The favorite you are attempting to invoke has an altered item list. Please reconfigure and try again.

Additionlly, the below error entries can be found in the BM logs after attempting this:

com.bm.xchange.dynamicResource.integration.ProcessInvocationHandler.doExecuteOperation(ProcessInvocationHandler.java:236) - processInvocations.start failed while executing with inputs: {selections=["51047057"], variableName=CM_41161360}
com.bm.xchange.rest.exceptions.BusinessLogicExceptionHandler.toResponse(BusinessLogicExceptionHandler.java:79) - Business logic exception
com.bm.xchange.db.BusinessLogicException: The favorite you are attempting to invoke has an altered item list. Please reconfigure and try again.

Changes

The following setup steps have been followed to trigger this behavior:

  1. Set up a table based BOM mapping rule with a condition, i.e. _bm_model_variable_name = "model2"
  2. Set up the BOM hierarchy so that it consists of at lease one child BOM.
  3. Create a commerce quote level action of type "Copy To Favorites" and add to layout.
  4. Create invocation rule for Favorites List, "Add Fav to Quote", for above commerce process,.
  5. Add Favorite List (/commerce/favorites/list) to Navigation Menu for ease of access.
  6. Configure a model using the above mentioned BOM and add to a new transaction.
  7. Select the model and click on the "Copy to Favorites" type action from step 3.
  8. Navigate to Favorites list and select the newly created favorite and click on the invocation rule from step 4 to see error:

The favorite you are attempting to invoke has an altered item list. Please reconfigure and try again.
