"An error occurred attempting to install P6Professional" When Launching setup.exe File Downloaded from the Cloud Portal Page (Doc ID 2996136.1)

When attempting to launch the setup.exe file downloaded from the Primavera Cloud Portal to install or upgrade P6 Professional, the following error occurs:

An error occurred attempting to install P6Professional.

An error occurred trying to download "<SERVICE NAME>/p6professionalcloud/x64/P6Professional.application".
See the setup log file located at 'C:\Users\xxxxx\App Data\Local\Temp\XXXXXXX.tmp\install.log' for more information.

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:

  1. In the Primavera Cloud Portal, click the Install P6 Professional link.
  2. Download the setup.exe file and run it.
  3. The installation fails with the reported error.
