Symptoms
When employee adds a Document record through Self service or HR adds a Document record for an employee, the transaction fails with below error.
Issue Description : The request operation failed with the business rules defined for RULESET1.
Resolution : Validate the BPM rule for RULESET1 and ensure it returns a valid approval hierarchy.
NOTE: This error can be faced with any type of transaction
Changes
Customer had 3 RULESETS in place and created Approval rule as below.
Example: Requirement : Based on a condition the Approval should go to LINE_MANAGER >> AOR >> CEO, so they created rules in RULESETS as below.
RULESET1 : No Approval rule defined (There were around 150 rules already defined here and so didn't want to create new rule on this ruleset)
RULESET2 : IF <condition> THEN <Approval to LINE_MANAGER> followed by <Approval to AOR>
RULESET3 : IF <same condition as in RULESET2> THEN <Approval to CEO>
