Symptoms

When attempting to copy and paste a project, followed by a second copy and paste or a refresh (F5), the following event code occurs:

EVENT CODE

Event Code: VTDCF-0024-8.
Message:
TCVirtualTable.DoCalcField: TASKPRED.driving_flag

OR

Event Code: VTDCF-1984-7
Message:
TCVirtualTable.DoCalcField: PROJWBS.node_type:
Access violation at address 000000000159583C in module 'PM.EXE'. Read of address 0000000000000000

OR

Event Code: VTRAT-3988-F
Message:
TCVirtualTable.RefreshAppend: TASKACTV: Access violation at address 0000000003202CF1 in module 'PM.EXE'. Read of address 0000000000000000
  
STEPS

The issue can be intermittently reproduced in either of the following scenarios:

Scenario 1:

1. Initiate a project copy and paste from P6 Professional.
2. Do a second project copy and paste.
3. Observe the error message.

Scenario 2:

1. Initiate a project copy and paste from P6 Professional.
2. While the first copy and paste operation is running, refresh (F5).
3. Observe the error message.

The error cannot be reproduced 100% of the time, it is contingent on the timing of the consecutive operations.
