Symptoms

There is a Zone named 'test.zone', CNAME [name1.test.zone] and [name2.name1.test.zone] are also registered using the zone(CNAME references A record automatically created by OCI). The zone is configured in the subnet DHCP option. The below name resolution by using 'host' command are working as expected.

host name1.test.zone
host name2.name1.test.zone
host name2

However, name resolution is not working for [host name2.name1] including a period without domain(same result by using command NSLOOKUP), in the meanwhile, confirmed [name2.name1] is also pingable.
