Search And Select Resource Screen Not Returning Correct Results Service Request (Doc ID 3004707.1)

Symptoms

 We have a custom DCL field called Assigned To in Service Request Object and multiple custom objects. This Assigned To field points at the Resource object. When a user uses the Search feature in the DCL field, the expected results are not returned. When we search with the OOTB Role field, it does not return any or very many users to select from. Example: We have a custom resource role called Agency Assessor. When Agency Assessor is selected in the Role field, no results are returned. When we search using either %% or the custom Agency field, it returns multiple users, some that show Agency Assessor in the Roles field.
