Purpose

If you must create an 11.2.0.4 database using dbaastools, you cannot use the preferred command line utility, dbaascli. This CLI does not support creating and deleting 11.2.0.4 databases. Rather, you must use the deprecated dbaasapi command line utility to create and delete 11.2.0.4 databases on an Exadata Database Service VM Cluster. The utility operates like a REST API. It reads a JSON request body and produces a JSON response body in an output file.

The utility is located in the /var/opt/oracle/dbaasapi/ directory on the compute nodes and must be run as the root user.

Scope

Oracle recommends only using dbaastools to create and delete a database when you are unable to use the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Console or API.
