Purpose

 In today’s world, application architectures are becoming more global and distributed and are moved to the Cloud, breaking with the traditional barriers of private data centers. While new architectures increase flexibility by removing the rigidity of physical space and hardware, you must know and understand your newly chosen environment and how it potentially impacts your applications.

The first step in understanding the impact of network latency is to accurately measure the latency, so that you have a baseline to measure further improvements and optimizations
