Query Items API Does Not Return User Defined Fields With Parameter ReturnMaster=True (Doc ID 3014174.1)

Goal

Using the parameter called "returnMaster=true" the search results don't give the user defined fields in the resultant JSON even with the fields=all , or the specific user defined fields are specified in the request. What could be the problem?
