/VAR FS IS GETTING FILLED UP DUE TO GETDBSYSTEMDETAILS (Doc ID 3014357.1)

Last updated on MAY 02, 2024

Applies to:

Gen 2 Exadata Cloud at Customer - Version N/A and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

/var "getDBSystemDetails" Subdirectory Filling Up with Log Files

We received an alert from our Oracle Enterprise Manager that the /var filesystem was less than 5% free on one of our hosts. It appears the source of the bloat is coming from something to do with the ExaCC cloud tooling log files located in the following directory:

[root@]# df -h /var
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/VGExaDb-LVDbVar1 5.0G 4.8G 208M 96% /var

[root@ admin]# du -hs * | sort -n
1.2G getDBSystemDetails
2.0M updateStack
