Project Budget Start Date Changes Automatically As Soon As Cost Allocated to Budget Planning Scenario (Doc ID 3029933.1)

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

Project Budget Start Date changes automatically as soon as cost allocated to Budget Planning Scenario.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Expect the project budget start date has no change after cost allocated to budget planning scenario.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Log into OPC and created a Portfolio (Planning Horizon 5 Years).
  2. Assigned 2 Projects to this portfolio, Project A (Start Date: 01-Jul-24 and Finish Date: 30-Jun-28) and Project B (Start Date: 01-Jul-24 and Finish Date: 30-Jun-28).
  3. Opened the Portfolio > Navigated to the Cost and Funds > Budget Planning > Add Scenario.
  4. Assigned the Target Budget and distributed over the time period. Eg: Total = 10,000,000  (2024 = 2,000,000) (2025 = 2,000,000) (2026 = 2,000,000) (2027 = 2,000,000) (2028 = 2,000,000)
  5. Started assigning the Proposed Budget to the Projects over the time period the Start Date changes automatically to the past.
