Error "The import file is invalid" When Importing an XER (Doc ID 911500.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to import an XER file, the following error occurs.

The import file is invalid.

 

The issue can be reproduced at will using the following steps:

  1. In P6 Professional, click File > Import... and select file type XER.
  2. When prompted browse to and select the file to be imported.
  3. View the reported error.
