This problem is limited to a client / server installation running on a Windows platform.
An application using the ODBC driver fails to connect. The error returned to the screen is:
The ODBC DSN test button yields the same error.
The same error may be reproduced using the Net Manager tool to create and test a service. If Net Manager is running in the same home as the ODBC client.
This problem will not likely reproduce using SQL*Plus from the same ORACLE_HOME.
A recent upgrade to 10g may have taken place or this is a new installation.
