Symptoms

Executing Oracle Objects for OLE (OO4O) code with bind variables from VBScript may result in the following error:

Oracle Automation: OIP-04122: Bind variable not fully enabled

 

The behavior can be reproduced with the following code

Set OraSession = CreateObject("OracleInProcServer.XOraSession")
Set OraDatabase = OraSession.OpenDatabase("orcl", "scott/tiger", 0)
OraDatabase.Parameters.Add "empno", 1234, ORAPARM_INPUT
OraDatabase.ExecuteSQL "insert into emp (empno) values (:empno)"
