Symptoms

Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA) failed with the following errors while creating a database:

Create controlfile reuse set database "ORCL"
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01503: CREATE CONTROLFILE failed
ORA-01565: error in identifying file '<PATH>/system01.dbf'
ORA-27037: unable to obtain file status
SVR4 Error: 2: No such file or directory


The database files will be located on a remote filesystem (using NFS, NAS, SAN...)
