Symptoms
Oraus.Msb is being opened repeatedly, until the max files limit is reached and processes fail with these errors:
ORA-01110: data file 16: '<path_to_datafile/datafile.dbf>'
ORA-27041: unable to open file
You may also see:
fd=4095 File=<ORALE_HOME>/mesg/oraus.msb
(THOUSANDS of file-handles for this, left in an open state!)
Changes
This has been seen following an upgrade from 10g to 11g.
In one case it was triggered by an attempt to unset an event that was not actually set. There will likely be other triggers.
