The OCI API was over-hauled from version Oracle 7 to Oracle 8.  You may find yourself now in a position of needing to mix calls from both APIs.  For example, you may have existing applications that use the olog() call to logon but need to call newer code written with the OCI 8 API.  Is this supported?
