SES 11g Installer Hangs When Running the Database Configuration Assistant (Doc ID 1276151.1)

Symptoms

When running the OUI for Oracle SES 11g, it hangs at the Database Configuration Assistant step. There is no error or warning message in the installer logs.

Changes

The installation on the Solaris server is attempted from a Windows workstation. A remote TTY tool was used to forward the DISPLAY to the Windows workstation and start the OUI. The workstation uses the Open Source Xming X Server for Windows to display the installation dialogs from the Solaris server.
