Goal

This document shows how to add a new OpenVMS node and/or a new Oracle database instance to an existing CRS/RAC Multi-Home installation.

The Multi-Home installation will have been carried out based on the following document:

      <Document 559915.1> Oracle Release 10.2.0.2 Multi-Home CRS/RAC Installation on hp OpenVMS Itanium and Alpha Clusters

If you are using a Shared-Home installation, please refer to the following article as the steps required are different:

This document is based on an existing Oracle 10gR2 CRS/RAC installation running version 10.2.0.4 with at least the following one-off patches applied:

      CRS <Patch 8407330>
         VMS: CRS-210 ERRORS WHEN USING USING NETCA AND VIPCA UNDER 10.2.0.4

      CRS and RAC <Patch 6955040>
         ALL THE SESSIONS LOST CONNECTION AFTER KILLING CRSD.BIN
