Symptoms

An ORA-39726 can be seen when a table is COMPRESSED FOR OLTP, uncompressed, and columns are dropped.   The drop statement generates the ORA-39726.

If the columns to be dropped have been set to "unused," then the drop statement will generate an ORA-904.

Changes

Table was compressed and then uncompressed.
