Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Database Service - Version N/A and later
Oracle Database Cloud Exadata Service - Version N/A and later

HP OpenVMS Itanium
HP OpenVMS Alpha

Symptoms

Running Oracle 10gR2 on the OpenVMS operating system.

Parallel Operations (like parallel query, parallel statisctics gethering) can result in one of the related PQ Worker hanging.

The process state of the hung worker process shows that the hang appears in the Oracle function sskgmrf_unmaprange.

However, above the Oracle function there are a number of OpenVMS functions which when translated using SDA MAP commands on the given machine indicate that the OS call stack is:

sskgmrf_unmaprange -->   C$MMAP\munmap -->   C$MMAP\msync -->    sys$updsec_64w --> EXE_STD$SYNCH_LOOP --> SYS$WAITFR --> sch$ast_outermode
