Last updated on JANUARY 31, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle ODBC Driver - Version 11.1.0.6.0 and later
Oracle Provider for OLE DB - Version 11.1.0.6 and later
Precompilers - Version 11.1.0.6 to 11.2.0.2 [Release 11.1 to 11.2]
Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 11.1.0.6 and later
Oracle Database Cloud Schema Service - Version N/A and later
Microsoft Windows (32-bit)
Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)

Symptoms

An application that relies on either the Current Directory of the application, or the "Start In" property of a shortcut, to locate dependencies may fail after loading the 11g Oracle client software.

Changes

The same application may have worked in 10.2 or previous, or 11.1 if it is an Oracle precompiler application (the precompiler library orasql11.dll was changed in 11.2 to link to OCI.dll in order to support Instant Client).
