Symptoms

You are adding additional disks to a RAC ASM diskgroup and you start to receive the following errors:
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [723], [118952], [2248944], [memory leak], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], []
As well as:
ORA-04031: unable to allocate 3064 bytes of shared memory ("shared pool","unknown object","sga heap(1,0)","channel handle")
Followed by:
ERROR: Releasing group with AU enqueue for extent gn=3 disk=0 au=0
ERROR: Releasing group with AU enqueue for extent gn=3 disk=65535 au=-1

Changes

Addition of multiple large ASM disks and high database activity, can trigger the memory leak to fragment the SGA.
