Symptoms

Alert.log reports:

ORA-600: internal error code, arguments: [kcbnew_3], [0], [163444], [4], [], [], [], [], [], [], [], []


The call stack from the trace file contains next functions:

... kcbnew ktsscrsegfmt ktsscrseg ktssctr_segment1 ktssctr_segment ktrsexec ktsscf_segment kdblipl kdblil2 ...


NOTE:
The alert log may also report variations of the ORA-600, e.g.

ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [ktspfmdb:objdchk_kcbnew_3]

possibly followed by

ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [ktsscrsegfmt:objdchk_kcbnew_3]

Changes

This is usually reported after upgrading from Oracle 9i or 10g to 11g.
The problem only occurs starting with Oracle11g.
It could also happen on new Oracle11g database, without upgrade.
