Sometimes it may become necessary to move objects (or part of an object, for example: partitions) to another tablespace. One such reason is to be able to drop a tablespace (which needs to be empty to do so).
This article explains how to move segments to another tablespace, including:
a table partition or sub-partition
a table's LOB column storage
a partitioned or sub-partitioned table LOB column storage for any given partition or sub-partition
an index
an index partition or sub-partition
