How To Move Partitioned Tables to Another Tablespace When They Contain LOBs

Information in this document applies to any platform.
Sometimes it may become necessary to move objects (or part of an object, for example: partitions) to another tablespace. One such reason is to be able to drop a tablespace (which needs to be empty to do so).
This article explains how to move segments to another tablespace, including:
- a table partition or sub-partition
- a table's LOB column storage
- a partitioned or sub-partitioned table LOB column storage for any given partition or sub-partition
- an index
- an index partition or sub-partition
