After Upgrade to 11g Resource Manager SWITCH_TIME to CANCEL_SQL or KILL_SESSION directives does not work as expected ORA-00040
Last updated on SEPTEMBER 02, 2017
Applies to:Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 188.8.131.52 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
This applies only from Oracle Database Version 11.2 till 12.1
We expected that SQL execution will be cancelled after 10 minutes with ORA-40 error when using Resource Manager SWITCH_TIME to CANCEL_SQL, but It is getting cancelled after 12mins or sometimes runs indefinitely. Also can not use SWITCH_TIME_IN_CALL which is Deprecated.
So because of this we cannot use the feature of cancelling the query based on resource manager plans,
which are running fine before upgrade to 11gR2, now the resource consumer group doesn't seems to work as expected.
Upgraded the database to 184.108.40.206 (11gR2)
