Applies to:
Precompilers - Version 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.3 [Release 11.2]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
11gr2 has a way to set the prefetch value on a REF CURSOR using OCI, JDBC 2.0 etc. However, this functionality is not available for precompiler based application such as Pro*C. This functionality was added for OCI and JDBC primarily because of customers migrating applications from Sybase to Oracle and have seen significant performance degradation without the prefetch of REF CURSORS. However, there is no solution for Pro*C applications.
