New connection attempts to TimesTen Database fails with TT6003: Lock Request Denied Because Of Time-out (Doc ID 1505875.1)

Symptoms

A User that is not the Instance Admin attempts to connect to a TimesTen database:

ttisql sample

 6003: Lock request denied because of time-out
Details:
The command failed.

This can also be seen in the ttmesg.log:

2012-11-14 11:44:24.61 Info:    : 19215: connect.c:2010: Mark not in-flux (was reason 2=connect pid 31518 nwaiters 0 ds /data/sample)
2012-11-14 11:44:24.61 Info:    : 19215: return 1 6003 'authentication failed' arg1='' arg1type='S' arg2='' arg2type='S'

 

If this had been a failed client connection attempt user might see this error logged in ttmesg.log or tterrors.log:
