Symptoms
Running Oracle 10gR2 on HP OpenVMS.
The following messages appear when executing the ORAUSER.COM
WARNING: Password file does not exist -- database may not function correctly
The system-wide logical name ORA_<sid>_PWFILE has been defined to point
to the file MY$DISK:[ORACLE10G.dbs]orapw<sid>.
This is the default password file for this database instance.
Please (re)create your password file using:
$ ORAPWD FILE=MY$DISK:[ORACLE10G.dbs]orapw<sid>. PASSWORD=<password>
If you are using an alternative password file (i.e. in a different
location or with a different name), please redefine the logical name:
$ DEFINE/SYSTEM/EXEC ORA_<sid>_PWFILE <alternative_password_file>

If running 10.2.0.2, the patch for <bug 5996137> has recently been applied.
