Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

From 11.2.0.3 onwards, the JDBC oracle.sql.* types are been deprecated and in most cases oracle.jdbc.* interfaces should be used. It important to note that any users's JDBC programs referring to oracle.xdb.XMLType constructors or createXML methods should continue to use oracle.sql.* types as oracle.jdbc.* interfaces are not available at this point of time.
