Symptoms

When installing Oracle SES 11.2.2.2.0 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine using the all-in-one install option, part way through the installation, the error message "ORA-12638 Credential Retrieval Failed" is getting displayed.


Several articles suggest changing the SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES parameter in sqlnet.ora to "(NONE)", but that does not help further.
