How to Handle SQL*Loader Exit Codes (Doc ID 191041.1)

Purpose

With release of Oracle 8, the SQL*Loader utility provides exit codes (also called: return codes) for checks immediately after a run.
This document aims to describe this facility and how to get the exit codes.

Note that these codes are not reported correctly in Oracle7, but should be valid in Oracle8 release 8.0.3 onwards. (See Bug:165338)

Scope

The information in the article applies to SQL*Loader utility only for users that need automatic error checking for their load jobs.
There are example scripts just to give an idea about handling the exit codes.
