Oracle SES Installation Fails With [WARNING] [INS-75023] Location Is Not a Sub-directory (Doc ID 1916835.1)

Symptoms

Attempting to install Oracle SES 11.2.2.2 in silent mode

The config fails during the stage : "Oracle Net Configuration Assistant".  

Due to this the installation does not complete 100%, failing to configure/boot required services.


Log File shows:

The installation of Oracle Secure Enterprise Search was successful.
Please check '/u02/oradata/PSFT/SES/oracle/oraInventory/logs/silentInstall2014-08-06_02-21-59AM.log' for more details.

Oracle Net Configuration Assistant in progress.
.................................................. 84% Done.

Oracle Net Configuration Assistant failed.
[WARNING] [INS-32091] Some of the configuration assistants failed.
  CAUSE: Software installation was successful. But some configuration assistants failed, were cancelled or skipped.
  ACTION: Refer to the logs or contact Oracle Support Services.

 

..drilling down into the specific installActions Log, the following is seen :

Filename: installActions2014-08-06_02-21-59AM.log

WARNING: [WARNING] [INS-75023] It is recommended to have Data File Location as a sub-directory of DB Oracle Base.
  CAUSE: Specified Data File Location location is not a sub-directory of DB Oracle Base.
  ACTION: Specify Data File Location as a sub-directory of DB Oracle Base.
INFO: Advice is CONTINUE

WARNING: [WARNING] [INS-75023] It is recommended to have Domain Home as a sub-directory of Middleware Home.
  CAUSE: Specified Domain Home location is not a sub-directory of Middleware Home.
  ACTION: Specify Domain Home as a sub-directory of Middleware Home.
