After Upgrade to BDA 3.0.* , Previous Directories From DataNodes are NOT Deleted (Doc ID 1918566.1)

Symptoms

NOTE: In the examples that follow, user details, cluster names, hostnames, directory paths, filenames, etc. represent a fictitious sample (and are used to provide an illustrative example only). Any similarity to actual persons, or entities, living or dead, is purely coincidental and not intended in any manner.

  

On Oracle Big Data Appliance(BDA) CDH Cluster after upgrade to 3.0.1 , previous directories from datanodes are NOT removed. 

Due to this symptoms noticed an a BDA CDH Cluster are

1) Cloudera Manager will report HIGH DFS Space usage

2) Cloudera Manager HDFS Capacity and Cluster Disk usage Report will vary

3) Balancer running for a very long time and had to abort the Balancer after 48 hours.

4) Maybe some cases dfsadmin reports indicates one/more of the BDA nodes is 100% full where as on rest of the BDA nodes only 20% of Disk usage noticed
