Goal

This document provides instructions on how to add a new Client/Edge Server (non BDA node) to a CDH Cluster on Oracle Big Data Appliance(BDA) 4.0 release.

If an edge node is added through the Host Wizard it needs to have the same OS as the cluster nodes to which it is being added.

Note: After adding an off-BDA non-Mammoth edge node to a BDA cluster using the steps here see: How to Renew BDA Default Self-Signed Certificates on Non-BDA Edge Nodes Which are Part of the Cluster (Doc ID 2406539.1).
