ERROR: Incorrect result resolving Oracle Big Data Appliance node name or IP (Doc ID 1965467.1)

Symptoms

Seeing errors running bdacheckcluster:

ERROR: Incorrect result resolving bdanode01 to <ip> on bdanode01
ERROR: Result:bdanode01.example.com has address <ip>
...
ERROR: Result: Host <reverse ip>.in-addr.arpa. not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
ERROR: Incorrect result resolving <ip> to bdanode01 on bdanode02

 

OR

 

ERROR: Incorrect result resolving bdanode01 to <private ip> on bdanode01
ERROR: Result: <domain> has DNAME record <domain>.
<domain> has DNAME record <domain>.
bda1node01.<domain> is an alias for bdanode01.<domain>.
