Symptoms

EXPDP and IMPDP commands return Segmentation fault (core dumped) error on a newly created 12c instance, e.g. for expdp:

oracle:<ORACLE_HOME>/bin: expdp
Export: Release 12.1.0.2.0 - Production on Thu Apr 23 16:22:24 2015
Copyright (c) 1982, 2014, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.
Username: system@<SERVICE_NAME>

Segmentation fault (core dumped)

and for impdp:

oracle:<ORACLE_HOME>: impdp

The alert log did not show any specific internal errors.

An RDA/HCVE report showed some failures and recommendations regarding SHMALL kernel parameter.
However, after following the recommendation, the issue persisted.
