Datapump Export/Import returns Segmentation Fault (core Dumped) Error (Doc ID 2006650.1)

Symptoms

EXPDP and IMPDP commands return Segmentation fault (core dumped) error on a newly created 12c instance, e.g. for expdp:

oracle:/u01/app/oracle/product/12.1.0/dbhome_1/bin: expdp
Export: Release 12.1.0.2.0 - Production on Thu Apr 23 16:22:24 2015

The alert log did not show any specific internal errors.

An RDA/HCVE report showed some failures and recommendations regarding SHMALL kernel parameter.
However, after following the recommendation, the issue persisted.
