Applies to:

Oracle Database Exadata Express Cloud Service - Version N/A and later
Oracle Database Exadata Cloud Machine - Version N/A and later
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Database Service - Version N/A and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Following errors are encountered while importing into 12.1.0.2 database:

ORA-02374: conversion error loading table "<SCHEMA_NAME>"."<TABLE_NAME>"
ORA-01722: invalid number
ORA-02372: data for row: <COLUMN_NAME> : '-~'

The export was taken from a 11.2.0.3 source database.

The import goes fine when imported into 11.2.0.3 database again.

<COLUMN_NAME> is a column with a FLOAT data type but surprisingly it contains data some thing like '-~' in it.
