How to Understand /opt/shareddir on the BDA (Doc ID 2087304.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 04, 2022

Applies to:

Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 4.1.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Goal

Explain the directory /opt/shareddir on the BDA.

The purpose for the /opt/shareddir NFS mount is that it provides a general purpose location for components that may need shared storage. Oracle Spatial and Graph uses it and some of the Big Data Connectors use it as a location to store an Oracle Wallet. It is not used by Mammoth or BDA utilities for administration or by the Hadoop cluster. So if it is not available then Hadoop cluster functionality should not be affected, but use of components that do use it (mentioned above) may be affected .
