DataPump Import via NETWORK_LINK Fails with IMP-58, ORA-12592 (Doc ID 2106419.1)

Symptoms

Importing a large data volume, which takes a long time, via the network fails with below errors:

IMP-00058: ORACLE error 12592 encountered
ORA-12592: TNS:bad packet
IMP-00028: partial import of previous table rolled back: 758553 rows rolled back

. . importing table "<TABLE_NAME>"
IMP-00058: ORACLE error 3113 encountered
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
Process ID: 16615
Session ID: 245 Serial number: 41285
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully

 
Note that no network problems are observed.

Changes

This may be a recent upgrade to database version 11.2.0.4 or a new installation of 11.2.0.4.
