ORA-16014 ORA-00312 while bringing up database (Doc ID 2115062.1)

Symptoms

 ++ DB currently in mount stage and while bring up in OPEN mode facing ORA-03113:

SQL> alter database open;
alter database open
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
Process ID: 20052
Session ID: 661 Serial number: 5

++ When going through alert log we see DB terminating due to archival issue

Errors in file /opt/oracle/app/oracle/diag/rdbms/stbydb3/stbydb3/trace/stbydb3_ora_47516.trc:
ORA-16014: log 1 sequence# 1 not archived, no available destinations
ORA-00312: online log 1 thread 1: '/u02/oradata/stbydb3/redo01.log'
Wed Mar 02 17:28:23 2016
ARC1 started with pid=21, OS id=47526
USER (ospid: 47516): terminating the instance due to error 16014
System state dump requested by (instance=1, osid=47516), summary=[abnormal instance termination].

 

++ Problematic log is part of database LSTBYDB3 itself which facing archiving
