Goal
Queries suffering from errors or poor performance on text or character data need to consider the following:
Big Data SQL supports Smart Scan for character types of VARCHAR2 only, with a maximum length of 4000. CLOB types cannot be offloaded. Additionally, Hive tables or HDFS data with String types which exceed 4000 characters will either cause errors or truncation, depending on the access parameters specified on the RDBMS-side external table.
